What is “MAC”?
MAC is short for Managed Assigned Counsel. The MAC system is a new, simplified way of contracting. It will be an hourly based system, with monthly payments made using the current private assigned counsel rates for time worked the previous month.
Why is IDS Making this Change
We’ve heard your feedback, and we want to create a simpler and fairer system. The MAC system will ensure that payments are made fairly, consistently, and timely. Attorneys will be paid for the work that they do. The MAC system will also be flexible as caseloads ebb and flow. IDS is working to implement a database system that will be user-friendly and that will be accessible on mobile devices.
