Bridging the Gap Mitigation VII Seminar – Registration now OPEN!

Registration is now open for the Bridging the Gap VII Mitigation Seminar.
The seminar will be a live in person conference at Carolina Beach, NC November 6-8, 2023.
The seminar will be at the Courtyard by Marriott, which is on the oceanfront. This is the same location as last year’s conference.
The Courtyard by Marriott has reserved a block of rooms at $119.00 per night plus taxes.
REGISTRATION FEES:
Attorneys: $255.00 (Includes the CLE fees for the State Bar.)
Mitigation specialists: $200.00
Fact investigators: $200.00
Others: $200.00

THE DEADLINE FOR BOOKING YOUR ROOM AT THE REDUCED RATE IS OCTOBER 16, 2023.
The seminar begins Monday, November 6, 2023 at 11:30 am. This gives you time to travel to Carolina Beach Monday morning and have lunch on your own.
The seminar ends Wednesday, November 8 , 2023 at 2:00 pm. This gives you time to travel home Wednesday afternoon.
Therefore, you would need a room for Monday and Tuesday nights.
However, this is the beach, so the hotel has agreed to offer shoulder dates at the same discounted rate for Sunday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
So, you can stay Sunday night until Thursday morning at the same discounted rate if you like.
Note to state employees and presenters:
Feel free to use the shoulder dates, but you will not be reimbursed for those dates. You will only be reimbursed for hotel expenses for Monday and Tuesday night.
Register, book your room (by October 16th), and come enjoy the training, the fellowship, and the beach.

SPECIAL NOTE TO STATE EMPLOYEES:
State employees must get prior approval to attend this seminar in order to seek reimbursement, using the Form AOC-A-182.
Once you are approved, you can then register and reserve your room. If you have prior approval, you do not have to pay the registration fee as IDS will cover this fee.
You DO need to let Jennifer Webster know you are attending.
You will also need to book your own hotel room and pay for the room. After the seminar, you can seek reimbursement for mileage, hotel, and meals per state rates and rules.
SPECIAL NOTE TO PRESENTERS:
Presenters do not have to pay the registration fee, but will need to book your own room. Presenters will pay for their rooms but can seek reimbursement for the room, mileage, and meals at the state rate.
