Indigent Defense Services, the Duke Law Center for Criminal Justice and Professional Responsibility, and the Wilson Center for Science and Justice are pleased to announce the eighth annual CLE, “Whiskey in the Courtroom: Evolving Trends in Forensic Science.” Whiskey 8 will take place on March 4, 2022 at Duke Law School. We plan to be in-person at Duke Law and also offer a live webcast. We will carefully monitor the prevalence of COVID and move the program completely online if necessary. Masking and vaccine verification will be required for in-person attendance. More information TBD closer to the event.
Forensic science experts and attorneys who have litigated cases involving complex scientific evidence will present on a range of topics designed to help attorneys understand the latest trends in forensic evidence, limitations to this evidence, and legal challenges that can be made. This year the program will have a special focus on Firearms Evidence.
The program is expected to carry 6.25 CLE hours. If you want CLE credit, you will need to pay the NC State Bar the CLE fee of $3.50 per credit hour. For in person attendees, there will be a $25 fee to cover refreshments and parking which will be collected closer to the date of the program. Please complete the registration if you are interested in attending either in-person or virtually.
